What is eCOGRA?

eCOGRA (eCommerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance) was founded back in 2003 by a group of online gambling companies to improve standards of the online gambling companies and more importantly player protection. Companies accredited by eCOGRA must comply with practical business and integrity standards, along with an impartial inspection, review and monitoring program that authorises them to display the organisation's revocable Safe and Fair seal.

When the organisation was form it’s services did only cover online casinos, but since then as online gambling has become ever more popular, eCOGRA have extended their services to cover poker room operations, Internet bingo, sportsbetting, mobile and live gambling businesses. They have also expended to cover affiliate programs as well, with their Affiliate Trust Seal. They have placed its influential accreditation within reach of all online gambling companies.

Most of the top online gambling software providers have been assessed by the organisation, which in turn is recognised by several of the international online gambling regulators as well as most of the online gambling bodies around the world, like European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA), which have all the top online operators among its members. Members of EGBA are constantly reviewed for their compliance with the standards set by the appropriate European state monopolies’ requirements such as those drawn up by the European Lotteries Association.
