Tom “durrrr” Dwan Regains Poker Challenge Lead
After several swings that saw him drop a $100,000, Tom “durrrr” Dwan is back in profit in his heads-up Poker challenge.
Dwan finished his latest session on Full Tilt Poker up $150,000 overall. Patrik Antonius had had a modest $56,000 lead but couldn’t hold on to his advantage.
The challenge is still in its early stages. Dwan and Antonius have played about 4,000 hands out of the 50,000 required for the completion of the challenge.
Dwan’s challenge is open to anyone (except Phil Galfond) and involves playing 50,000 hands heads-up in either no-limit Texas hold'em or pot-limit Omaha at four simultaneous online tables. If Dwan beats his opponent, he will receive an extra $500,000, but if he loses, he will shell out $1.5 million on top of his losses. The 3/1 chance has attracted not only Antonius but also high stakes players like David Benyamine and Phil Ivey to the table.
The challenge still has some way to go of course, but don’t discount plenty of bankroll swings over the next few weeks.
