Tom Dwan Kicks off Ultimate Poker Challenge
If you’ve been following the online scene lately you’ll have noticed the challenge laid down by American nosebleed star, Tom “Durrrr” Dwan.
Well, now the challenge has started and usual suspect Patrik Antonius is first to seize the mantle. The challenge goes a little like this: Dwan is offering up $1.5 million of his hard-earned to $500K of his challengers as an incentive to any player that they can beat him over 50,000 hands at 4 heads-up online tables simultaneously. The stakes were set at a minimum $200/$400 with with PLO or NLHE the games of choice.
After the first session between the 22 year old and the flying Finn, Durrrr ended the sesh up to the tune of $134,911. Not bad for 1,500 hands. Antonius has said he expects the challenge to take anywhere between four and six months complete, and waiting in the wings are other takers to the challenge, Phil Ivey and David Benyamine.
Eager railbirds can watch all the filth unfold over at FullTilt Poker. Just look for the new “durrrr Challenge” tables on the site. Enjoy.
