Poker pro Adam “csimmsux” Geyer Wins FTOPS Main Event
Online poker pro Adam “csimmsux” Geyer brought the eleventh Full Tilt Online Series of Poker to a dramatic close last weekend by taking home just shy of half-a-million dollars after winning the £535 buy-in Main Event.
The highlight of the FTOPS XI schedule certainly lived up to its billing as a staggering 5,287 players came together to play in the Main Event, generating a prize pool of $2,643,500 – breaching the $2.5 million that Full Tilt had guaranteed for the event.
However, while Geyer’s bumper windfall would certainly be the cure to any Valentine’s Day hang-over, the win was made all the more impressive by the fact that it was not the first FTOPS title of the young Texan’s impressive online career. A year ago to the day of his latest conquest, Geyer took down the $2,500 NLHE event at FTOPS VII to pocket $488,175, while back in 2007, he won the PLO w/rebuys event to land his maiden title at FTOPS V.
Such impressive form even in the face of the monster fields generated by FTOPS events should come as no surprise to Geyer himself though, with the Austin man having also notched similar successes in the live arena. In the past three years alone the tournament pro has scored a slew of cashes at EPT, WPT, WSOP and Aussie Millions events and currently boasts career winnings in excess of £1.5m.
