Gala Cancels British Poker Tour
13/2/2009

The sold-out tour was a storming success last year, with nationwide £500 NLHE events drawing in big names across the board. Old hand Alan Vinson took down the Grand Final at the Gala in Bristol just before Christmas to bag himself £83,000 and a WSOP package.
"While we’ve have had two fantastic years running the ‘Great British Poker Tours’, we’ve now decided to look at a number of new events and promotions for 2009 that will not only excite our players but are of great value and are accessible to poker players of all levels,” explained GCBPT Tour Manager Mark O’Donnell. “Through our poker websites (galapoker.co.uk, coralpoker.com and eurobetpoker.com) we are already planning to run more satellites than ever to the world’s biggest poker tournaments including the European Poker Tour (EPT), World Series of Poker (WSOP) and Aussie Millions.”
O’Donnell went on to outline Gala’s new online schedule, including a $10,000 new player freeroll and a weekly $300,000 ‘ChampionChip’ event. More details can be found on galapoker.com, coralpoker.com and eurobetpoker.com.
