Match Made in Online Poker Room Heaven.
Since the Internet was launched in 1991 it has been a type of media for people to do pretty much whatever they wish. Online casinos and gambling have been huge over the last few years and it was only a matter of time before people could use it as a means of meeting people. That is what Gary Suffir (28-year-old New York attorney) and Jackie Johnson (27-year Las Vegas artist) did, and after meeting online at Partypoker.com the couple are now planning a trip to Las Vegas (the home of gambling) in March to get hitched.
The couple met in September 2004 over a game of poker, so now the wedding they are planning will have a poker theme to it. After the wedding the newly weds will embark on the PartyPoker.com Million V Cruise, a cruise around the Cayman Islands and Jamaica for their honeymoon, which starts on the 12th March, and along with around 450 other poker players.
PartyPoker.com spokesman Warren Lush said: “We were delighted when Gary and Jackie called to tell us that they were going all-in for life. It took us a while to believe that they weren't bluffing! They're having a full-on poker wedding in Vegas and are even having an online tournament for wedding guests a couple of weeks before the big day. We look forward to welcoming them on to the PartyPoker.com Million V for their honeymoon where company spokesman and leading poker ambassador Mike Sexton will toast their future happiness.”
The upcoming marriage of Suffir and Jackson has created quite a stir on the offices of PartyPoker.com. Said Lush: “Since hearing about Gary and Jackie, we've now done a deal with LavaLife for some private poker dating tables. Perhaps we should think about creating our own online dating site.”
