IP Addresses Blocked by Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet
In order to comply with new Franklin County Circuit Court laws those with IP addresses from Kentucky will be unable to access their accounts at online gambling companies Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet.
Tokwiro Enterprise ENRG who owns Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet, two of the few remaining online poker sites still allowing US players has announced that access to their websites will be restricted for Kentucky residents.
In a press release Tokwiro said, “The block will prevent players with IP addresses originating inside the Commonwealth of Kentucky from using Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet software, logging in or registering a new account, making deposits to the cashier, and transferring or receiving funds from other players.” The block will also allow those with Kentucky IP addresses to make withdrawals of existing account funds, but these players will be unable to make any new deposits or transfers.
Paul Leggett, Tokwiro’s Chief Operating Officer said, “We have taken this action in order to ensure that the vast number of our customer, who do not reside in Kentucky, continue to have access to our sites and to enjoy playing online poker without disruption or inconvenience.”
Players from Absolute Poker received an e-mail on Monday morning saying, “We regret to inform you that, effective immediately, AbsolutePoker.com is no longer available to Kentucky residents. This means that you will not be able to access our website and software from within the state boundaries of Kentucky.” Similar e-mails were also sent to Ultimate Bet players.
