No Limit Read ‘em
Wouldn’t you know it: a gregarious, mop-headed hockey fan has written a poker strategy book. He also happens to have a cheesy goatee and an earring. Sounds alarming, I know, but when you piece it all together, you can learn a lot from all those things you might find reprehensible. It just happens to be four-time WSOP bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu and he teamed up with US publisher Cardoza to write Power Hold ‘em Strategy, which also includes input from some other poker A-listers like Todd Brunson, David Williams, Erick Lindgren, Evelyn Ng and 2006 WSOP Main Event runner-up Paul Wasicka.
“It has always been our philosophy to publish books by the world’s top poker authorities and champions,” commented publisher Avery Cardoza. “Power Hold ‘em ticks all the appropriate boxes and I am sure will provide the perfect platform for all levels of player’s to improve their game. [It’s] the most anticipated title since Super System 2 and will position ‘Kid Poker’ alongside our most popular authors such as Doyle Brunson, Mike Caro, Bobby Baldwin and T.J. Cloutier.”
PHE is busting with valuable information on short-handed and heads-up play, high-limit cash games, a powerful beginner’s strategy to nurture professional play, how to bluff and how to win big pots—isn’t that what it’s all about? And at the centre of it all is Negreanu’s powerful and revolutionary no-limit hold ‘em “small ball” strategy. “We tried to fit in as many helpful hand examples as we could without creating a 1,000-page monster,” Negreanu said.
