Fox sports network is the new home for WPT
The World Poker Tour (WPT) have publicised that they will be moving to Fox Sports Network (FSN) to broadcast season VII of the WPT Series. This will be the third home for the WPT; the WPT debuted on the Travel Channel in 2003 where it spent 5 seasons as the highest rated programme there before moving on to the Game Show Network (GSN) for season VI.
WPT Founder, President and CEO Steve Lipscomb said, “FSN and News Corporation are two incredible powerhouses in the television industry that have played key roles in the growth and popularity of televised poker. It couldn't be a better fit for WPT and our fans. We're thrilled."
Although the official start date and time for the series run is still yet to be confirmed it is anticipated that FSN will air 26 one-hour World Poker Tour episodes on Sunday nights. Hosts Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten are scheduled to return to their roles.
