Teenager from online gambling site wins EPT event

A member at online gambling site PoketFives, has become the youngest person to win a European Poker Tour event. Mike McDonald (just 18 years old), aka - ‘Timex’ won a tasty €933,600 (approximately $1.4 Million Dollars).

Unlike many of his young contemporaries, Mike’s father is in full support of his sons gaming, accompanying his son to Aruba last October for the 2007 UltimateBet Aruba Poker Classic.

This win will surely cement Mike’s place in the industry and help his burgeoning poker career, not to mention a new and extravagant lifestyle. PokerFives is hoping to offer many more players the opportunity to scoop huge prizes.

Other players also cashed in at the site over the same time, with long-time site member ‘CobaltBlue’ who earned his largest career score this past Sunday with a $25,000 victory in the Bodog $100k Guaranteed weekly tournament, edging out ‘bearbeer’ and ‘People_Mover’ who got 6th and 8th respectively in that tournament. Online Poker Rankings has also had some new additions this week including ‘bigredAK,’ Australian phenomenon Steve ‘stevoL’ Leonard, former ranked pro Aaron Been, ‘The-Toilet,’ and ‘GhettoFabolous’, who debuted in the #86 spot after being unranked last week.

The website features weekly poker articles on a weekly basis, which includes advice and playing tips from pros and experts alike. Currently there is advice from highly respected poker player David ‘Seal’ Eisenstein, who gives a step-by-step formula for detecting weaknesses in your poker game, with his article called ‘How to Plug a Leak,’ focuses on ways a player can improve their expectation by identifying problems and taking action.
