Who are the favourites to win the 100th US PGA Championship?
The bookies’ favourites are in for the 2018 US PGA Championship, which is shaping up to be one of the most exciting golfing events of the year.
This year marks the 100th time the Championship has been held and it looks like it’s going to be a big one this year, where anything can happen. Just look at Tiger Woods, who finally managed to finish in the top 10 at this year’s Open Championship, his first time finishing in the top 10 in a major since 2013.
The 2018 edition will run from 9 August to 12 August and is being held at the Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri.
Still riding the waves from his victory at the RBC Canadian Open, Dustin Johnson is the favourite to win the $10.5m prize, with Bet365 and Ladbrokes offering odds of 8/1.
Two-time winner Rory McIlroy is sitting pretty as another favourite to win, with Bet365 and Ladbrokes offering 12/1.
Last year’s winner Justin Thomas is trailing close behind, with Bet365 and Ladbrokes offering odds of 14/1.
There are hopes Thomas may become the first back-to-back winner of the PGA Championship since Woods successfully defended the championship at Southern Hills in 2007.
Jordan Spieth, winner of three majors, is 22/1 with Bet365 and 25/1 with Ladbrokes.
Woods is making a return to the PGA Championship for the first time since 2015, and despite finishing tied sixth at last month’s Open Championship, is priced at 25/1 with Bet365 and 33/1 with Ladbrokes
Ladbrokes is also offering 25/1 odds on Rickie Fowler winning the Championship, while Bet365 is offering 22/1.
