The UK’s luckiest bingo hotspot has been revealed
Dundee has been hailed as the luckiest regional area in the UK to play the National Bingo Game (NGBA).
A study conducted by NGBA, titled “The UK’s Luckiest Towns”, found the top 10 bingo hotspots in the country based on the number of wins and total amount won in each region between February 2014 and February 2015.
Dundee placed alongside Stockton-on-Tees as the area with the most wins with 21, but is ranked at the top of the table due to its total amount won being £205,833.33 as opposed to Stockton-on-Tees’ total of £173,306.46.
All of Dundee’s wins came from Mecca Bingo, including one player who claimed a £25,000 win, allowing Dundee to disposition Blackpool, last year’s winning area.
Bolton polled in third with 20 wins, followed by Oldbury, Blackpool and Leicester, each with 16 wins.
Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and Stirling made up the top 10.
NBGA chief executive Miles Baron said: “For many winners their prizes have been life-changing. Stories from our winners have ranged from buying houses and going on their first family holiday, to starting a new career and retiring. Many donated a proportion of their winnings to worthy causes too.”
