Survey underlines mobile betting popularity
Football betting research has found that 70% of punters are using their mobile or tablet to place World Cup wagers.
A survey carried out by market research firm USurv on behalf of independent payment management company Secure Trading questioned UK bettors during England’s 0-0 draw with Costa Rica.
Of those who had placed a bet on the tournament, 70% had done so on their mobile device.
Secure Trading commercial director Jens Bader said: “We’ve seen a huge surge in mobile gaming during the World Cup.
“Heavy advertising campaigns coupled with the rise of ‘second screening’ has led to a massive boost for operators.”
