Three-quarters of England fans use social media during country’s games
As many as 75% of England fans are plugged into social media while watching games, according to research by Betfuze.
The mobile sports-betting platform found that 35% of Three Lions followers get game updates from Twitter, with 45% sharing news stories on Facebook.
Betfuze partner Coral predicts that more than £1bn will be wagered during the tournament, with 70% of those bets placed on a mobile device ̶ that's a 750% bump from the 2010 World Cup.
Betfuze’s Sentimeter analytical tool, which utilises global social media sentiment to give punters a betting edge, forecasts a tight game between England and Uruguay tonight.
An England win scores 54 points out of 100, the draw 50 and a Uruguay victory 57.
Betfuze CEO Paul McNea said: "Using predictive tools such as the Sentimeter will give the fans a better experience and will open up sports betting to a new generation, no matter how England perform."
