Ladbrokes launches World Cup Facebook game
Bookmaker Ladbrokes has rolled out a new Facebook virtual betting app to boost brand recognition and capitalise on World Cup buzz.
The app, called 'The BIG Score', allows players to choose one of five World Cup bets each day to fill the community kitty.
At 4pm every day the most popular wager is placed, with the amount staked being the average amount from everyone who chose that bet.
The winner, drawn at random, will take home £5k, with two runners-up each earning £1k. An extra £3k will be handed out in daily spot prizes.
Ladbrokes social media manager David Moscardini said: “Brazil 2014 will be the most social media-dominant World Cup, and probably sporting event, of all time so we hope our Facebook-run contest will tap into the social buzz and give our community added enjoyment to complement their TV watching and gaming activity.”
