Sports footage game makes debut
A new sport-related online casino game featuring video archive clips and a series of sporting legends has gone live.
5050Sports gives players a straight ‘yes or no’ choice on whether or not an incident will occur during a clip, for example ‘Does the player score the penalty?’.
Once the punter has made their selection a short clip is played, with the outcome of the bet determined within five seconds.
The game features classic footage from football, boxing, cricket, tennis, darts, snooker, greyhounds and motorsport.
Each variant of the game sees a figure associated with the sport in question present footage – for example former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan features in 5050Sports Cricket.
Others involved across the variants include former footballer Michael Owen, ex-boxer Ricky Hatton and darts player Simon Whitlock.
BetVictor are the first operators to go live with the game, offering odds of 5/6 on each ‘yes or no’ outcome.
Fixed stakes start at £1 and rise to £100, while high rollers can play a VIP edition for up to £1,000 a time.
5050Sports founder Stuart Carr said: “5050Sports takes gaming back to basics and is ideal for today’s ‘snacking’ generation of online and mobile players.”
Eoin Ryan, head of sportsbook at BetVictor, added: “There is no other game out there like it – it is effectively the first ever branded heads and tails – and is attracting traditional sports bettors as well as games players.”
