UK EuroMillions ticket wins £80m lottery jackpot
A British ticketholder has won a £81.4m EuroMillions jackpot.
The lucky player won the prize, which is the sixth largest in UK lottery history, after matching all five winning numbers of 8-13-26-34-38 as well as Lucky Stars 3 and 11.
The £81,381,673.30 jackpot was the result of an eight-fold rollover, with the top prize in the twice-weekly draw having not been won since 26 April.
The UK’s biggest ever lottery winners are Colin and Chris Weir from Scotland, who won £161.7m in July 2011, while Adrian and Gillian Bayford of Suffolk scooped £148.7m
A National Lottery spokesman said: “We’ve been giving the rest of Europe a chance to win big this year but Lady Luck is clearly shining back down on the UK once again."
