Bradford face Villa in League Cup semi

8/1/2013
League Two promotion chasers Bradford host Premier League strugglers Aston Villa tonight in the first leg of the Capital One Cup semi-final.

The Bantams, who overcame Arsenal in the quarter-finals to reach this stage, currently sit eighth in the fourth tier, just outside the play-off places on goal difference.

Striker James Hanson and defender James Meredith are doubts for the match with injury and illness respectively, although fit-again Kyel Reid and Carl McHugh are in contention to start.

Villa, who beat Norwich in their quarter-final, occupy 16th spot in the Premier League, one point and two places outside of the relegation zone.

Forward Gabby Agbonlahor is fit again but midfielder Marc Albrighton is out with a foot problem.

The fixed-odds arm of online betting exchange Betfair make Aston Villa 8/11 favourites for the match, with Bradford available at 7/2. The daw is priced at 13/5.

The game kicks off at 7:45pm.
