Late lottery winner claims £4.4m jackpot
A three-month search for a National Lottery jackpot winner is over after the ticket-holder came forward to claim their £4.4m prize.
The winning ticket was purchased in County Down, Northern Ireland on 2 June and the holder had been the subject of a number of public appeals in the weeks after the draw.
The £4,392,003 prize would have expired on 29 November, with the money going to National Lottery good causes.
A National Lottery spokesperson said: "We're delighted that the winner of this amazing jackpot prize has now come forward and we hope that they will enjoy their win.
"It would have been awful if the ticket-holder had missed out on this substantial and life-changing amount of money."
Meanwhile National Lottery operators Camelot are calling for a £1m Euromillions raffle prize winner to come forward and claim their cash.
Raffle ticket number GCR760097 was bought in the Fermanagh-South Tyrone area for the 3 August draw, with the winner having until 30 January 2013 to collect their prize.
