Great Scot wins 14-fold accumulator
A Scottish punter has won nearly £30,000 on a £2 accumulator bet.
The 60-year-old from Dundee, a regular in the William Hill shop where the bet was placed, collected £27,740.74 after correctly predicting the outcome of 14 football matches.
The mystery man required the help of some late goals, including the 80th and 84th minute strikes that saw Dunfermline come from behind to grab a 2-1 win away to Airdrie United.
In England a stoppage time winner for Sheffield Wednesday against Millwall also kept the bet alive, with the Owls already having battled back from a goal down.
William Hill spokesman Mark Young said: "It is a magnificent win for a regular customer of many years to achieve. It is great news to pay a win like this out — brilliant news and congratulations."
Earlier this year another Dundee punter scooped £32,000 after placing a £5 reverse forecast patent bet on greyhound racing, having already won £45,000 on a similar bet the previous year.
