Casino showcases record-breaking burger
A casino resort in Minnesota has produced the biggest ever bacon cheeseburger.
The Black Bear Casino Resort near Carlton broke the Guinness World Record with its 10 foot wide culinary creation, which weighed 914 kilograms.
Created to celebrate Labour Day, the mega burger included 27kg of bacon and 18kg of cheese, with the meat taking four hours to cook and the bun requiring seven hours.
The beast of a burger, which was flipped by a crane during cooking, was eventually served to resort guests for free as part of the casino’s Big Burger Bash.
Guinness Records representative Philip Robertson, who was on hand to confirm that the burger was record breaking, said: “What I saw today was a feat of remarkable teamwork that resulted in a world record burger that actually tastes really good.”
Black Bear Casino Resort's executive chef Gerald Bayerl said: “Countless hours and incredible ingenuity went in to accomplishing this enormous accomplishment."
The previous record burger weighed 400kg.
