Bradley Wiggins favourite for Sports Personality award
Olympic gold medallist Bradley Wiggins is odds on favourite to be named the 2012 Sports Personality of the Year.
The 32-year-old Tour de France champion, winner of the time trial at London 2012, is offered at a best price of 4/7 to claim the coveted BBC award, according to odds comparison website Oddschecker.
Next in the betting comes double Olympic gold winner Mo Farah at a best price of 5/2, with the 29-year-old athlete fresh from a remarkable Games that saw him secure victory in both the 5,000m and 10,000m.
Indeed the upper echelons of the list are dominated by recent Olympic champions, with heptathlete Jessica Ennis the 8/1 third favourite for the accolade, ahead of tennis star Andy Murray at 25/1 and cycling legend Chris Hoy at 50/1.
The winner of the BBC 2012 Sports Personality of the Year award will be announced at a special ceremony on 1st December.
