London 2012 betting: Tom Daley set for gold medal challenge
Great Britain’s Tom Daley is second-favourite for Olympic gold in the men’s 10m platform event.
Plymouth-born Daley, a World, European and Commonwealth champion in the discipline, is offered at best odds of 4/1 to claim a maiden Olympic title, according to odds comparison website Oddshchecker.
The 18-year-old is competing in his second games having finished seventh in Beijing in 2008.
Favourite for the competition, the final of which is held on 11 August, is Chinese sensation Qiu Bo, holder of two World Championship golds.
The 19-year-old is available at best odds of 4/7 to claim Olympic glory, while his compatriot Lin Yue is third-favourite at 10/1.
Another British entrant, Pete Waterfield, partner of Daley in the 10m platform synchronised event, is offered at a best price of 40/1 for surprise success in the individual competition.
The British pair are listed as 40/1 outsiders for the 10m platform synchronised event, with China the big favourites at best odds of 2/5.
