Glenn Hoddle leads Nottingham Forest boss betting
Glenn Hoddle is favourite to become the new Nottingham Forest manager after Mick McCarthy withdrew his interest in the role.
Former Wolves boss McCarthy had been in talks with new Forest owners the Al-Hasawi family but has decided against pursuing the opportunity, leaving Hoddle as the clear front-runner to take over from the recently-sacked Steve Cotterill.
The ex-England chief is offered at a best price of 8/11 to fill the vacancy, according to odds comparison website Oddschecker, ahead of Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson at 10/1 and former Forest midfielder Roy Keane at 14/1.
The new owners have said they are seeking a boss with a strong CV, a lot of experience and an inspiring character, as well as knowledge of the Championship and the teams within it.
Forest begin the 2012/13 season away to Fleetwood in the League Cup before hosting Bristol City in their opening league fixture of the campaign.
