Newcastle lead race for Andy Carroll transfer
Newcastle are odds on favourites to re-sign Andy Carroll should the striker leave Liverpool during this summer’s transfer window.
Bookmakers BetVictor are offering odds of 2/7 that the target man rejoins his hometown club either permanently or on loan before the end of August following the news than an initial approach from the Magpies had been turned down by the Anfield club.
Next in the betting come AC Milan at 10/1 after the Italian giants were linked with a move for the 23-year-old earlier in the summer, while a transfer to Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Arsenal is priced at 11/1.
Newly-promoted West Ham, who have already expressed an interest in a loan move for England man Carroll, come next in the betting at 12/1, ahead of a series of other top flight sides including Fulham (14/1), Aston Villa (16/1) and Reading (22/1).
Should Carroll not leave Liverpool either permanently or on loan during the summer 2012 transfer window then all bets on the market will be settled as losers.
