Euro 2012 quarter-finals: Czechs face Portugal test
Portugal play the Czech Republic tonight in the first of the Euro 2012 quarter-finals.
The Czechs are somewhat surprise last eight competitors, having lost their first game 4-1 to a Russian side strongly fancied to top Group A. Wins over Greece and Poland in the following fixtures saw the Czechs turn things around however to finish at the summit, booking a clash with the Portuguese in the next round.
Portugal were drawn in the so-call group of death but prevailed to qualify in second place behind Germany, despite also having lost their opening game of the tournament. That 1-0 defeat to the Germans was followed by victories against Denmark and Holland to seal progression to the knockout stages.
Online betting exchange Betfair have Portugal as 4/5 favourite for the match, followed by the Czechs at 5/1. The draw is priced at 13/5.
Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo is 4/1 favourite to score the first goal, followed by teammate Helder Postiga at 7/1.
