Expose is pick of the bunch at Sandown tonight
Sandown’s most successful jockey, Ryan Moore, is widely tipped for victory in the Performance PR Handicap at 18.50 this evening.
Online betting comparison site Oddschecker.com shows Expose best priced at 7/2 (Stan James, Bet Victor). Moore has won a record 21% of races at Sandown, making him the most successful jockey ever at the Surrey course, and will start as favourite with Signifier (7/1) and Italian Tom (8/1) looking to spoil the party.
Hayley Turner, who became the first female jockey to saddle 100 UK Flat race winners in a calendar year back in 2008, rides Bouncy Bouncy and is considered a 10/1 shot by the majority of bookies. However, Coral, Stan James and Paddy Power have her as short as 8/1, with 32Red going ultra-cautious, pricing Turner at 7/1.
Meanwhile Tom Queally, who rode Frankel to victory in the 2,000 Guineas last year, rides Alpha Delta Whisky and is best-priced at 14/1 with four bookmakers on Oddschecker and at 16.5 on Betfair.
The first race at Sandown tonight, the West End Maiden Auction Stakes, bolsters a typically strong evening card, with Rhamnus best priced at 4/5 and is sure to be sent out as the short odds favourite. Richard Hannon’s runner was left in the traps on his debut race but despite this Rhamnus found momentum finishing an impressive second behind Fortinbrass at Newmarket.
