Camelot leads Epsom Derby betting
The Aidan O'Brien-trained Camelot is the odds-on favourite for this weekend’s Epsom Derby.
The three-year-old Colt is offered at a best price of 4/6 to win the 1 mile 4 furlong contest, according to odds comparison website Oddschecker.
Oddschecker report that Camelot, who is set to be ridden by Aidan’s son Joseph, was available at 50/1 to win the Derby ahead of his maiden win at Leopardstown on 14 July last year, with his odds halving to 25/1 after that victory.
He was then offered at 12/1 ahead of his Racing Post Trophy success in October before being cut to 4/1 after that triumph. His odds were shortened to 5/4 following an impressive win in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.
Second in the betting for the nine-runner Derby is the Andrew Balding-trained Bonfire, offered at a best price of 9/2, ahead of Astrology and Main Sequence at 10/1.
The race takes place at 4pm on Saturday.
