Chris Hughton favourite to become West Brom boss
Birmingham manager Chris Hughton is the odds-on favourite to be appointed the new West Bromwich Albion boss following the departure of Roy Hodgson to take the England job.
Ex-Newcastle chief Hughton is offered at a best price of 1/3 to become Baggies boss, according to odds comparison website Oddschecker, with the former Irish international having led his current side to the Championship play-off semi-finals last season.
Ex-Huddersfield manager Lee Clark comes next in the betting at a best price of 8/1, ahead of current Portsmouth boss Michael Appleton at 14/1, whose troubled Pompey outfit were relegated from the second tier last season.
Former England defender Gareth Southgate, now working as a television pundit, is available at 18/1 to make a return to management with the Baggies, while Ian Holloway – whose Blackpool side defeated Hughton’s Birmingham in the play-off semis only to lose to West Ham in the final – is priced at 20/1 to make a return to the Premier League.
