Premier League betting preview: Liverpool v Chelsea

Liverpool host Chelsea in the Premier League tonight as the two sides reacquaint themselves following Saturday’s FA Cup final.

The Blues won that weekend encounter 2-1 to lift the trophy, denying Liverpool a second cup success of the season.

With regard to the league Liverpool currently sit in ninth position, three points behind eighth-placed Fulham with a game in hand. Chelsea occupy sixth spot and are four points behind Newcastle in fifth, again with a game in hand.

Liverpool will be without injured midfielders Charlie Adam and Lucas, while Chelsea midfield duo John Obi Mikel and Raul Meireles are also out. Blues defenders Gary Cahill and David Luiz may not recover from hamstring injuries in time to feature.

Bookmakers Bet365 make Liverpool 11/10 favourites for the match, with Chelsea offered at 12/5. The draw is priced at 5/2.

Reds striker Luis Suarez is 9/2 favourite to score the first goal, followed by teammate Andy Carroll at 6/1.

Chelsea strike pair Didier Drogba and Fernando Torres are both available at 13/2.
