Gamblingonlinemagazine.com’s Week 34 Premier League Predictions

13/4/2012
With two eagerly-anticipated FA Cup Semi-Finals to be decided this weekend, it’s a scaled down selection of Premier League Predictions this Friday. Gamblingonlinemagazine.com talks you through the best of the action.

Norwich v Manchester City
Game on again in the title race? Maybe not if Roberto Mancini is to be believed, but there is no doubt his Manchester City charges will have been galvanised by United’s slip-up against Wigan in midweek. However, it is undoubtedly the Citizens away form that has let them down this season and they face a trip to one of the meanest grounds in the league in Carrow Road. Norwich’s season has been nothing short of spectacular so far and they won’t make it easy for City on their own patch, but given the dynamic and how much is at stake, the visitors may just edge a real blood and thunder tie.

Bet: Manchester City To Win 2-1 @ 8/1

Sunderland v Wolverhampton
Both Sunderland and Wolves were handed chastening thrashings in their last Premier League encounters away to Everton and at home to Arsenal respectively, but there is no doubting which side will be the quicker to bounce back from the disappointment. Sunderland have been more or less imperious at home since Martin O’Neill took over and with Stephane Sessegnon back in their ranks there is a real cut and thrust about their play that the visitors will struggle to handle. Terry Connor is trying his best to remain upbeat, but privately he must know his team are down.

Bet: Stephane Sessegnon To Score First @ 5/1

Swansea v Blackburn
Swansea find themselves in an interesting position at present in that despite the huge amounts of praise that have been heaped on them this season, they are on their worst run of form and look to be limping towards the finishing line. There is a growing belief that teams are starting to figure out how to play against them and their defence is looking uncharacteristically creaky at present, so it’s more than possible that Blackburn could bust the coupon with a timely away win here – and what a boost to Steve Kean’s team’s chances of Premier League survival that would be.

Bet: Blackburn To Win @ 3/1

West Brom v QPR
In a relegation battle that has already defied most people’s predictions it is QPR – even more so than Wigan – that have most upset the apple cart. Mark Hughes’ side have unquestionably the most difficult run-in of the teams at the bottom of the table, yet they have beaten Liverpool and Arsenal already and the confidence that gave them was evident in their comprehensive win against Swansea in midweek. The R’s are playing well at the moment and they should pose a few problems to a West Brom side who have very little to play and another point on the road will help them no end.

Bet: West Brom and QPR To Draw 1-1 @ 6/1

Manchester United v Aston Villa
Manchester United look devoid of any creativity or cutting edge against Wigan in midweek, but it is very rare for Sir Alex Ferguson’s men to be afforded the luxury of two lackadaisical performances on the bounce. While the Scot will have rightly turned the hairdryer up to full blast after their 1-0 defeat, they have the perfect chance to get back to scoring ways against a Villa side who certainly won’t turn up to have a go at United. In fact, United have scored three or more goals in six of their last eight home games against the Villains and that certainly sounds a fair bet this time out too.

Bet: United To Win By 3 Or More Goals @ 6/4

Arsenal v Wigan
The growing number of Arsenal fans who were calling for Arsene Wenger’s head in February are conspicuous in their absence now that the Gunners have taken 27 points from a possible 30 and tightened their grip on 3rd place in the table. A big part of their resurgence has been down to the presence of a more-or-less full-strength back four and it is hard to say what kind of test Wigan will provide on Monday. True, the Latics are playing out of their skins to survive at the moment, but they have never taken a point back from Arsenal and this may be too big a test for them.

Bet: Arsenal To Win 3-0 @ 7/1
