Synchronised favourite for Grand National glory

13/4/2012
The Tony McCoy ride Synchronised is favourite to win this year’s Grand National.

The nine-year-old gelding, victorious in his last two races, is offered at a best price of 8/1 to win the Aintree contest, according to odds comparison website Oddschecker.

Joint second favourite for the legendary 4 mile 4 furlong chase is last year’s winner Ballabriggs, with the Donald McCain-trained 11-year-old available at a best price of 12/1.

Offered at the same top price is West End Rocker, with the 10-year-old gelding an Aintree winner last time out in December.

The David Pipe-trained Junior follows at odds of 14/1, just ahead of 16/1 trio On His Own, Chicago Grey and Cappa Bleu.

A series of outsiders for the 40-runner race are offered at 150/1.

With regard to each-way betting most bookmakers will pay out 1/4 odds for either four or five places.

The John Smith’s Grand National Chase runs at 4:15 tomorrow afternoon, with live coverage broadcast on BBC1.
