Will Chrimes brings you round-by-round betting previews of this season’s FA Cup with Blue Square

And then there were four - and what a fantastic FA Cup semi-final line-up it is. Firstly Everton take on Liverpool and then Chelsea meet Tottenham, with both games at Wembley and a place in the final – and local bragging rights – up for grabs.

David Moyes would love nothing more than to reach the final at the expense of Liverpool, who have already beaten his side twice this season. A lot has changed over the past few weeks and Everton are on a great run coming into Saturday’s lunch-time kick-off.

Some superb finishing against an in-form Sunderland produced a comfortable 4-0 win on Easter Monday and although Nikica Jelavic didn’t score, he’s revitalised the Toffees’ attack. The Croatian has bagged four goals in five games and will be a constant threat to the Reds’ back four.

Brad Jones will be charged with keeping the Croatian out as Doni was sent off against Blackburn on Tuesday evening. It’s been six games without a clean sheet for the Reds and I cannot see them getting one here. It’ll be a tight game but one that Everton can edge to make up for the two league defeats this year.

Chelsea and Tottenham put their battle for the final Champions League spot on hold for the FA Cup on Sunday. Both clubs missed opportunities over Easter to close the gap on Arsenal with disappointing results.

Spurs’ woeful defensive effort cost them dear against Norwich and they cannot afford the same mistakes this time around. Harry Redknapp’s side have chosen a terrible time to stutter and one win in six means they need a big turnaround at Wembley.

Roberto Di Matteo was left bitterly disappointed as the Blues gave away a lead to Fulham on Monday evening. A point was the very most they deserved after another turgid performance, which is worrying considering how much they needed the three points.

There was nothing to separate the sides over the two league fixtures this season and I fancy another tight game. Branislav Ivanovic will be a big loss at the back for Chelsea and Spurs have the weapons to make that advantage count.
