Rampant Arsenal still facing top four struggle
Despite Arsenal’s amazing 5-2 comeback win against Tottenham at the weekend bookmakers remain unconvinced by the Gunners’ top four credentials.
Stan James are offering odds of 10/11 that Arsene Wenger’s men finish the 2011/12 campaign in fourth place or better, but a shorter price of 4/5 is available on the North London side ending in fifth place or worse.
Arsenal host Newcastle and Aston Villa in the league during March, while they also make away trips to Liverpool and QPR. Bookmakers BetVictor are offering 5/4 that the team claim more than nine points during the month, with 17/10 available on fewer than eight points being registered over the period. A price of 5/2 is offered on Robin van Persie and co securing exactly eight or nine points across the month.
As for van Persie himself, bookmakers Paddy Power are offering a price of evens that both the striker and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger are still at the club come 1 September 2012, with odds of 9/2 available on both men having left by that time.
