Betfair to sponsor Prizefighter
Betfair are the new title sponsors of boxing’s Prizefighter series.
The online exchange have agreed a deal with promoters Matchroom Sport to support the popular eight-man, one night tournaments, beginning with the Light-Welterweights II show at the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton on 11 February.
The agreement will see Betfair branding displayed on the ring, fighters and ring card girls, while Betfair customers will be given access to expert analysis and boxer interviews ahead of the show.
A Betfair analyst will also be at ringside in Wolverhampton to discuss price movements during each fight.
The Light-Welterweights II event features competitors such as English Welterweight title-holder Adil Anwar, unbeaten fighters Tyrone Nurse and Dale Miles, and former British champion Barry Morrison, who along with the rest of the entrants will be competing for the £32,000 winner’s prize.
Betfair’s head of UK brand marketing Andy Lulham said: “We’re thrilled to enter into partnership with Prizefighter, a format which has breathed new life into boxing. The competition continues to grow in popularity and stature among our customer base.”
Matchroom Sport’s managing director Eddie Hearn added: “The event always attracts high volumes of activity within the betting markets and I’m sure punters will get great value with Betfair.”
