Mark Hughes favourite for QPR post
Mark Hughes is the odds-on favourite to become the new QPR manager following the departure of Neil Warnock.
Hughes – out of work since leaving Fulham last June – is available at a best price of 1/6 with Ladbrokes to take over from the sacked Warnock, who was dismissed from his position yesterday with Rangers lying one place and one point outside the Premier League relegation zone.
Next in the betting come former West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola, offered at a top price of 11/2 with William Hill, and ex-Liverpool chief Rafa Benitez, available at 10/1 with various online bookmakers.
QPR have confirmed they hope to have a new man in place before Sunday’s Premier League game against Newcastle.
Warnock’s last game in charge of the side saw a late Heidar Helguson goal steal a 1-1 draw away to League One side MK Dons in the third round of the FA Cup.
