FA Cup betting preview: Liverpool v Oldham Athletic
Liverpool host Oldham tonight in the opening fixture of this year’s FA Cup third round.
The FA Cup is famous for its annual displays of giant killing but the tie is a tough one for the League One Latics – who currently sit in 14th position in the third tier -despite manager Paul Dickov having a practically fully-fit squad to choose from.
Liverpool, who lie sixth in the Premier League table, will be without suspended striker Luis Suarez, although captain Steven Gerrard and defender Jamie Carragher could both play a part in the fixture.
Bet365 make Liverpool 1/6 favourites for the match, with Oldham offered at 14/1. The draw is priced at 13/2.
Red striker Andy Carroll is 7/2 favourite to open the scoring, followed by team mate Craig Bellamy at 15/4. Dirk Kuyt and Gerrard come next in the betting at 5/1. The shortest-priced Oldham player on offer is veteran striker Shefki Kuqi at 14/1.
