AC Milan begin talks over Carlos Tevez move
Carlos Tevez could finally make his long-sought move out of Manchester City after his advisors opened talks with AC Milan over a January move for the Argentine striker.
Italian giants Juventus and Inter Milan are also thought to be keen on the out-of-favour Tevez, who has not played for City since September when he was found guilty of five breaches of contract after apparently refusing to warm up as a substitute in the club’s Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich.
However, it is believed that Tevez’s Iranian advisor, Kia Joorabchian, met with officials from AC Milan on Thursday. No direct contact has yet been made between the two clubs over the player.
City are only willing to sell their player at the right price and have refused to countenance a loan deal for Tevez.
It is the latest instalment in an ongoing saga between Tevez and City. The Argentine first expressed his desire to leave the Premier League leaders in December, stating that he wished to move closer to his family.
The striker failed to report for training with his club earlier this month and was then photographed returning to Argentina, prompting City to instruct their lawyers to take action.
City’s manager Roberto Mancini has recently reiterated his comments that Tevez will never play for the club again while he is in charge.
SkyBet are currently the only bookmaker offering bets on Tevez’s next club after the January transfer window. They make AC Milan favourites to secure Tevez (10/11), followed by their fierce rivals, Inter (3/1). Jose Mourinho has been keen on the player for some time and his Real Madrid team are third favourites to secure his signature (7/2). SkyBet are offering 40/1 on Tevez making a shock return across Manchester to join up with Alex Ferguson and Manchester United.
