Betfair turn barbers to back Bromley ahead of FA Cup clash

Online exchange Betfair have unveiled a new marketing gimmick that they hope will be a cut above the rest.

Ahead of Bromley’s FA Cup tie with Leyton Orient on Saturday, the Conference South club’s starting eleven have had a Betfair Quick Response (QR) code shaved into the back of their heads.

Crafted by Wayne Rooney’s hair stylist Daniel Johnson, the codes can be scanned by a smartphone to link the user to Betfair’s mobile betting site.

The exchange engineered a similar stunt earlier this year when they had QR codes placed on the backsides of British beach volleyball team Zara Dampney and Shauna Mullin.

Bromley boss Mark Goldberg said: 'This is a great tie-up for the club. A little unconventional, but great nonetheless.”

Betfair spokesman Alex Bake added: “Everybody loves an underdog, that's what this competition is all about.

“We wanted to show our support for the teams outside of the Football League and this is the perfect opportunity to do that.”
