The Poker Channel expands into Europe.

Starting in March, The Poker Channel (TPC) will expand into Europe, launching a dedicated poker channel in France and Scandinavia. TPC has signed deals with leading networks in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and France.

“The channel has been a huge success in the UK, attracting up to 1m viewers a month, from just 8m homes, since its launch in March 2005. We are delighted to be broadening our reach across the whole of Europe, having agreed deals with the leading networks in such fast growing poker territories,” said Crispin Nieboer, Founder CEO of TPC. “The appetite for high-quality poker programming continues to grow across Europe, and with our schedule of top-class tournament and high stakes cash game coverage, plus documentary, educational and classic game coverage, we are proud to offer poker fans the first pan-European poker channel”.

Some of the highlights planned to air across Europe on the channel over the coming months include:

European Poker Masters: Europe's largest independent poker tour with a combined prize pool of over €1,000,000;

Million Dollar Cash Game: A massive tournament set in 50 Casino in London in September 2006, featuring a share of the $1 million pot.

Aussie Millions: Melbourne's famous Crown Casino from the 2005 and 2006 Aussie Millions as the pros head down under for one of the big prizes in poker.

World Series of Poker: Classic action from the WSOP from years gone by, including Stu Ungar's win in 1997, coverage of Matt Damon and Ed Norton, and a glimpse of the lives of the poker stars away from the tables in World Series.

British Poker Open: Attracts the big players, celebrities, and internet qualifiers alike with a look back at the great action from the tables.

Do It Like…: Cool interviews with stars who have their say on who's great in the world of poker.
