Champions League betting preview: Arsenal v Udinese
Arsenal host Udinese tonight in the first leg of their Champions League qualifying round tie.
The Premier League side will not be able to call on the services of suspended duo Samir Nasri and Robin van Persie, while Jack Wilshere is out injured. Fellow midfielder Tomas Rosicky will undergo a fitness test on a groin problem picked up over the weekend.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is confident his side will put in a performance against the Italians and is asking fans to stay behind his team.
“I expect my team to have a good game on Tuesday and that will encourage their belief and strengthen their belief,” he said.
“It is an important period for this club, but I am confident we will get over it in a very successful way. We need to remain united and not let the media manipulate our fans in a way they should not."
Bet365 make Arsenal 8/13 favourites to win the first leg, with Udinese offered at 11/2. The draw is priced at 13/5. The Gunners are 1/3 to progress over two legs, while their opponents are 9/4 to do the same.
Arsenal striker Gervinho is 15/4 favourite to open the scoring tonight, followed by Carlos Vela, Marouane Chamakh and Nicklas Bendtner, all of whom are priced at 5/1.
