Patrick Vieira talks up Man City title chances
Former Manchester City midfielder Patrick Vieira believes the club are capable of winning the Premier League this season.
The Frenchman, now City's football development executive, says Roberto Mancini’s side are as good as Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea and are one of six teams who could top the table come May.
"It will not be easy but I think people can count on City being there right until the end,” said the 35-year-old. “If you look at the quality of the team and how City have improved over the last few years, we can now challenge to win the Premier League.”
Bet365 make City 4/1 third-favourites to secure the title, behind current champions Man Utd and fellow big spenders Chelsea. Wantaway striker Carlos Tevez is 12/1 to be the Premier League’s top scorer for 2011/12, with new arrival Sergio Aguero offered at 14/1.
The Eastlands side are 2/7 favourites to win their opening league fixture at home to newly-promoted Swansea City.
