Amir Khan seeks Mayweather fight

25/7/2011
Amir Khan has set his sights on a fight with Floyd Mayweather following his demolition of Zab Judah on Saturday night.

A dominant Khan defeated American Judah inside five rounds in their light-welterweight unification fight in Las Vegas and is now hoping to face the undefeated Mayweather at welterweight level within the next 12 months.

"The Mayweather fight is something I'm looking at for the future and it would be huge for me. It would drive me on,” said Khan following his victory over Judah. "My aim is to move up the pound-for-pound rankings and to one day be pound-for-pound champion.”

Before stepping in the ring with Mayweather the 24-year-old Khan may first face Erik Morales or Tim Bradley at light-welterweight level, while Mayweather himself is set to fight Victor Ortiz in September. Bet365 make Mayweather the 1/8 favourite for the win, with Ortiz offered at 5/1. The draw is priced at 33/1.
