Record EuroMillions jackpot on offer tonight
Tuesday’s EuroMillions jackpot is set to be the biggest in history.
A succession of rollovers has led to the top prize hitting its £166 million limit, meaning that if a solitary player matches five numbers and two lucky stars they will become Europe’s biggest ever lottery winner. A UK winner would become the 418th richest person in Britain.
The capped jackpot has led to extra funds flowing down to bolster the lesser prizes, meaning that many winning players can expect a larger than usual return on their £2 investment. Ticket sales rose to 3 million an hour prior to Friday’s draw, with similar levels expected as Tuesday’s nears.
A National Lottery spokeswoman commented: "The massive £166m jackpot is still waiting to be won, and all eyes now focus on Tuesday's draw. In addition to the chance to win this life-changing prize, we could also see several UK millionaires created in the next prize level down."
