Shane Warne enjoys partying and poker at the World Series
Australian cricket legend and 888poker team captain Shane Warne has marked the beginning of the World Series of Poker Main Event at a star-studded party in Las Vegas.
The tournament always attracts its fair share of poker-loving celebrities and Warne certainly fits into that category, with the former spin king enjoying the celebrations at a VIP party held at the exclusive Savile Row club at the Luxor Casino. Warne was joined by his three children and girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley, while a host of other star names also made appearances. The entertainment on offer included a private performance of the single ‘I’m Calling Your Bluff’ by Olya.
As for the actual tournament itself, Warne started well by turning his 30k stack into 42k, dropping slightly to 37k by the first break. A late position holding of Ace-King was to prove his undoing however, as this Tweet explains: “Middle position raised I re popped 3 times - call! Flop K,8,J rainbow - I bet he re raise - I shove - he had A's.”
