Paddy Power pay out on Vettel world title
A bookmaker is paying out on Sebastian Vettel winning this year’s Formula One Driver’s Championship, just five races into the season.
The German has secured four wins and a second place so far and currently holds a 41-point lead over nearest rival Lewis Hamilton, prompting Paddy Power to reward punters who backed the Red Bull driver to become world champion, despite the season not being scheduled to end until the Brazilian Grand Prix in November. A championship victory would represent Vettel’s second Formula One world title, the 23-year-old having clinched his maiden success back in 2010.
"Congratulations to punters who backed Vettel - Red Bull gives them winnings!" said Paddy Power in a statement. "It was no secret Vettel was going to be the one to beat this year, but he has been on another level altogether and looks simply uncatchable. So why wait months to collect on the inevitable?"
