Andy Murray makes French Open progress
Andy Murray is 12/1 to win the French Open following his first-round success over home qualifier Eric Prodon. Bet365 make the Scotsman fourth favourite to claim the trophy following his 6-4 6-1 6-3 victory, sitting behind Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer in the betting.
Murray will face Simone Bolelli in the second round, with odds of 1/33 being offered on him seeing off his Italian opponent. Bolelli is a 10/1 outsider. Murray is 4/11 to win 3-0 in sets, with a 3-1 victory priced at 3/1 and a 3-2 success available at 10/1.
Speaking after the Prodon game, Murray commented: “It was a tough match. There was no rhythm really to the match. He didn't want to have any long rallies so he was hitting a lot of drop shots. He changed the rhythm and the pace of the ball a lot, so I was finding it tough and was annoyed with the way I was moving.”
