Bets are on for American Idol final four
It seems like only yesterday we were talking about some rather strange markets that had been introduced to whet punters’ appetites for the latest series of the singing competition before the serious stages of American Idol got underway, and now the contestants have been whittled down to just four. The competition is hotter than ever, and even though the bookies have a favourite for the outright winner, there is still everything to bet for. Scotty McCreery still remains as the favourite for winning the competition and his odds currently stand at 10/11 although punters who bet on him in the early stages of the competition will have received slightly more rewarding odds. Bookies have the boys in the lead with James Durbin being named as the second favourite with odds of 15/8, while the girls of the competition Lauren Alaina and Haley Reinhart both have odds of 6/1 for being crowned Season 10 American Idol.
If reality television has taught us anything, it’s that anything can happen, as there is always bound to be a few surprises in store. Some of the contestants who were eliminated in the early stages of the live finals were shock evictees to both the public and the bookies, so anything is possible.
The next elimination show will take place on Thursday where Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks is set to perform.
