Bet on Pippa Middleton’s next move
Shame on you if you thought that Royal Wedding betting would end as soon as the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said ‘I do’. Many punters experienced wins on the big day as several of the favourite odds came through, but now bookies are offering them more chances to make money with a brand new series of markets available.
Kate Middleton’s dress of course generated a huge amount of media attention, but her sister and Maid of Honour Pippa was very close behind. The bookies have noticed how popular the younger Middleton sister is, and have therefore opened up a ‘What will Pippa do next?’ market. Bookies are so sure she will appear in the top 100 FHM Sexiest Women list that they are only offering odds of 1/2. She is at 2/1 to appear on a Vogue cover feature, 3/1 to get married, and 7/1 to model Alexander McQueen (the fashion house that made sister Kate’s wedding dress) on the catwalk. She also has odds of 40/1 to marry Prince Harry, and 66/1 to become a Dame.
Naturally, the birth of Kate and William’s first child is another hot topic, with bookies offering odds of 10/1 that it will be born as early as this year. There are 8/15 odds that 2012 will be the year of the birth, but if you think the couple will want to wait a bit longer, 2013 is at 5/2, and 11/2 that their first baby will be born in 2016 or later. Baby names are another hot topic, with odds of 5/1 that their firstborn will be called Frances, 6/1 John or even 8/1 Diana. If you’re looking for outside odds, Wallis and Bryan are at 100/1,whereas Fergie is at 250/1.
