PokerStars return American cash
PokerStars have begun refunding American players who had their funds frozen following the events of Black Friday.
On 15 April US Federal authorities shut down the dotcom domains of PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and Absolute Poker, meaning American-based players holding accounts with the companies were unable to withdraw their money. However, as part of a recent agreement with the Department of Justice, PokerStars are now able to begin the process of refunding players their cash. The firm have also reiterated that players based outside of America are free to deposit and withdraw money as usual.
A PokerStars statement said: “In agreement with the US Department of Justice, PokerStars has made arrangements with a US bank and today began the process of returning player funds to former customers in the US. The funds to cover these withdrawal requests are readily available. All player deposits for players outside the U.S. are also completely safe and secure.”
